I am sorry I am rather late in replying to you but there are reasons. I have been watching, with a secret pleasure for the last seven years, thousands of people come to Baba, adore Him, worship Him and love Him. Adoration and worship of Saints is common in India but love is quite uncommon — very rare. And it is this phase of Baba 's working and activities externally that has appealed to me.

. . . How vividly do I remember that touching scene of the last night, those sweet touching words by one of you. "O Chanji, what shall we do tomorrow after Baba leaves here! You are taking Him away from us!!" And then the last scene at Victoria Station at the time of parting. How could all this be forgotten? Although I had all the while been a silent observer of this drama of Divine Love given and taken, the serene and touching effects of some of these scenes have left deep impressions on me too. Such profound love and devotion for the Master could not be easily had. It requires the Divine Grace of a Master and is in itself no small a privilege. Remember, all of you, that Baba has given you something of His best that He very rarely does give to very, very few out of thousands — and it is due to the divine gift and Grace of His that the light of real love in you has been kindled and kept burning. That you all have been lucky enough to deserve the best from Baba, the greatest of the living Masters of our age, is perhaps the Greatest Achievement of your life. Nothing more or nothing better could ever be desired.

So now that you have all got it, preserve it as the greatest treasure ― more valuable than life itself. Try to be more and more worthy of it, get more and more of it from the Fountain Source of all Love — BABA ― till at last you become merged in it. Perhaps you all know it by this time on actual experience and need no explanation from others. But this is not an explanation — this is by way of a congratulation from me to all of you that you have achieved something best and invaluable through the Great Master of our time — with my best wishes that you all may be worthy of more and more of this from the Ocean of Love till at last you are drowned in it.

Perhaps you have been already informed that Baba has decided to go to America and passage has been booked by the Italian boat "Roma" leaving Genoa on the 27th. So by the time this reaches you, perhaps we may be at sea. We reach New York on the 6th.

I have written a long letter to Herbert, detailing news up to date, and conveying him Baba's love.

I take this opportunity of thanking you and your parents for the hos-
