suitable for a picture like this, the technical difficulties of picturing scenes like the wonderful phenomena of Nature's working, of Creation, Evolution and of the Subtle planes, and last but not least of the supreme blissful state of Realization. All this required no small genius to bring things of the Infinite and beyond intellect within the limits of the finite and ordinary human mind and make it interesting at the same time. Many other relevant problems required master minds. But the Master of all the master minds was there to master all problems, and the ease with which problem after problem got themselves solved in his presence simply took all by surprise! And every difficult problem solved gave new experiences to all concerned of how Baba's ever-vigilant and guiding hand works through the various agents seen and unseen! How each learns a new lesson every time, of patience, forbearance, fortitude, and faith restored and reinforced! It is all too wonderful for expression by words. It must be learned and undergone personally.

One of the most important items of the day may be considered the visit of the four very learned gentlemen who came to see Baba on special appointment this evening. They were men of great learning and culture, a professor, a philosopher, a savant, and all sincere seekers after Truth. They had long been waiting to see Baba of whom they had heard and, taking advantage of his visit to Zurich, they had sought this opportunity to see him personally, even though they lived in very distant places on the Continent. Their humility, reverence and devotion for Baba were simply remarkable and provided a lesson to those "empty vessels who sound most" and who would not learn. The manner in which they talked, the enthusiasm they showed, the rapt attention with which they listened to Baba's explanation, the humility with which they accepted Baba's statements and answers to their various questions, and the gratitude they fell and expressed unanimously and wholeheartedly were exemplary. And Baba was so pleased and happy to see them! He knew all the while of their sincerity, humility and love, and that was why he explained to them today quite exceptionally under the existing circumstances, and as he very, very rarely did.

As already mentioned, these four were very learned men, each in his own capacity, and had studied all the different problems of the life here and hereafter, also the existing problems that baffled solution throughout the world. Each had drawn up questions on which he couldn't think further, and wanted new light for their solution from Baba. So deep and penetrating were those questions that the slightest efforts at evasion or 'window-dressing' would be at once marked out. The very nature of these questions showed and proved the learning and knowledge of the individual. But Baba is a Master, and in a masterly way did he grasp the situation. After he had replied to a few questions asked individually he told them all to read out all their questions one by one. After hearing all the questions from all four he commenced his explanations which lasted for over three-quarters of an hour. And after finishing, he asked if any of the questions were left unanswered, or if they wanted any more explanations. They all replied with one voice that they had all got their replies, nay ― much more. They felt so grateful for his granting them this privilege of a personal visit and taking the trouble of explaining and enlightening them on problems they could not solve. They also said that they very much enjoyed his company and that they had learned much that was quite new to them, and would help them in their further progress towards spiritual ideals and aspirations, and they asked for grace and guidance which Baba was pleased to confer with this loving expression: "I will help you". And with these words ringing in their ears, satisfied and delighted, they left him with all reverence. They seemed tremendously impressed with Baba's personality which they felt in his presence, of which they spoke to others in the family after leaving Baba.

Of course there was the usual daily gathering after supper, the blessed 'Love Feast' so anxiously awaited and so blissfully enjoyed by one and all.

July 11th: Discussion regarding film work continued. There were also some visitors, relatives of the Mertens, with whom Baba had private talks and advised each individually.
