near. Then bending forward, Baba put out His hand for A. H. to hold. He gasped Baba's hand and got up and was soon lost in an eternal embrace. The Beloved had opened the door of His wineshop and poured him a glass of the wine of self-forgetfulness.

Baba called A. H. again in the afternoon at 4:30. There was a darshan programme for an hour and a half. As it was nearing 6 p.m., A. H. felt the pangs of sorrow at leaving Baba. Every minute seemed to be moving faster and faster. He thought. 'Baba will go away: how will I live without Him?' Tears began to well up again. At exactly six, arti was sung and Baba got up to leave amongst loud cheers of Avatar Meher Baba Ki Jai. Eruch led Baba to the portico where His car stood. All closed up on Baba from behind while A. H. was left behind drowned in sorrow. He tried to push through the crowd to get a last glimpse of his Beloved before He left. The car started and he was way behind. He struggled and wriggled his way through. The car was slowly moving out of the portico when he emerged from behind the crowd. As the car turned, Baba put out His hand to hold his hand.

Baba's car sped away and all lovers were busy collecting their shoes and slowly walked away to the gate. A. H. felt he had been wrung through a washing machine. He collapsed on the steps of Guruprasad in the portico. He did not want to leave Guruprasad. He would be content to lay his life down for Baba. He sat with tears rolling down his cheeks thinking of all that had happened during the day. Every flower in Guruprasad seemed to weep with the sorrow of parting from Baba. His Beloved seemed to have slipped away into the Silent ocean of existence. The breeze of love that Baba had aroused in his soul worked like a storm giving vent to a continuous stream of tears. Eruch came and talked to A. H. and consoled him. Slowly he staggered to his feet and walked towards the gate and then to the railway station. As the train whistled, he burst out crying. He closed his eyes and saw Beloved Baba in front of him. Baba said, ''I am with you."

two spiritual secrets

To a devotee, Baba once gave these two "spiritual secrets,” as He called them: Never to hurt the heart of another, because that is where God resides; and always to be grateful, to give thanks to God every day .

The Lucky One

Baba once said that many of the souls from the ‘super-intelligent’ worlds in space would incarnate here on earth during His Avataric manifestation, but only one would meet Him personally. Was it Einstein? Einstein came to meet Baba in the 30’s in London*. He said afterwards, "All I know is nothing compared to what Meher Baba knows."

*Is this true, did he meet him?- webmaster
