Baba declared in August, 1929, that it was necessary for him for his internal workings to undertake another tour including parts of Persia.

I quote from page 41 of the November, 1929, Meher Message:

We cannot resist the temptation of informing our readers that kings might envy the way the Holy Master was honoured by Persians. Though the Holy Master performed no great miracles in public, and though no deliberate attempts were made by any of his disciples to make his presence known, the devotion and enthusiasm of the Persians knew no bounds. There is no recorded instance of any Saint or Prophet having been so much revered in Persia as Shri Meher Baba was. Particularly in Yezd, his mere presence carried thousands of people of both sexes, of all creeds and classes, including the highest civil and military officials of the Government off their feet."

From the issue dated December 1929, page 39—I quote.

"Meher Baba and his party reached the Persian port of Mohammerah on 26th September, 1929. He stayed there for five days, but only a few outsiders were allowed to approach him. Baba declared Himself inaccessible and ordered his party not even to mention his name to anybody. (It is just the reverse now, because we are asked to go from place to place and spread his name and message of Love, like wild fire.) His magnetic personality drew the attention of many, but the disciples had to give evasive replies to the many inquiries made of them about Baba.

Baba went to Isfahan (the former capital of Persia) on 22nd October, 1929. He was put up at a hotel in Isfahan. Scarcely a few hours elapsed after his arrival at the hotel, when there came to it the son of Arbab Sohrab, a distinguished merchant prince of Yezd. The Arbab had some-how come to know about the Holy Master's visit to Persia, and believing that he would surely pay a flying visit to Isfahan and to his own city, sent his own son with a servant to Isfahan. He had asked him not only to pay homage to His Holiness, but to entreat him to go to Yezd, and had instructed him that as soon as the Holy Master left Isfahan for Yezd, he should at once write to him. The name of the Holy Master being well-known in Yezd, the Arbab's intention was to make arrangements to enable the people to give a warm welcome to his on his arrival in Yezd. The son did as he was told, but it will be seen that he only partly succeeded in his mission.

A couple of days after the Holy Master's arrival at the hotel, a wonderful event happened. A servant of the hotel seemed to be grief-stricken and was found in tears. Mr. K. E. Afseri, a disciple of the Holy Master, could not help asking him the cause of his sudden sorrow.
