He says, "Love me, do not worship me."

Is this not God calling a rebuke to man and all his multifarious creeds and ceremonies? Yet he never destroys, he fulfills.

For us, His spiritual children, He makes alphabets out of sweets. When we begin to get pickle-letters, are we being promoted?

I capitalize Him, the Divine I in manifestation. Yet anyone who attains to this "I" has the right to capitalization, because this Divine I is the first letter of humanity. I am "A" among the letters, said Krishna.

Song of the sannyasin: "It is not what I brought Him, but what He took away.”

He is silent.

But every little leaf utters His Name. Every tree has a gesture, mudra, that is His. Every look has His eyes. Actually I see His face in every man's face, on subway, bus, 42nd Street, theatre crowds, endless streams of endless Babas, Babas, Babas, walking everywhere. Who is Baba? Baba is Everyman. Don't say "I love Baba" and then stay in your room and despise humanity!

Baba is Everyman in his Everylife. Our progress is His progress, our 49 steps, His giant step of Oneness . . .

The Master has a coat of Seven Colors. "Ant " on it am I.

But I don't care where on it am I, because every thread leads in to God. And sometimes late at night, I hear His heart beat.

Only He who is Awake can waken the sleepers. So bless the nightmares He gives to awaken you, not the pleasant dreams that keep you snoring forever!

What do we all look like to Him, lying asleep? Bundles of dirty laundry. . . "secondhand furniture" . . . a pile of stones . . . Unconscious!
