Baba turned to Mildred Kyle (a over of His who at ninety-three had been waiting for some eighteen years to meet the Avatar) and chucking her gently under the chin, said, 'Mildred, maybe you will be with Me then,' to which Mildred replied, 'Gladly, Baba.' Baba also paid a loving tribute to Norina and Elizabeth, two women disciples who had, He said, served Him long and faithfully all through the years, yet were not to be seen in our midst that day. But, Baba concluded, 'They are very precious—very sacred in My heart.'

"In spite of His injuries and consequent suffering, Baba left at the end of July for a visit to England and to spend a few days in Switzerland before returning to India to make the necessary preparations for the next or third phase of His tripartite life, which He had referred to as the Fiery-Free Life phase. It would begin on November 15th, 1952, and in it the strength and weakness, freedom and bindings of the earlier two phases would be consumed in the Fire of Divine Love. We returned to our everyday life to live for Baba, grow in love for Him and dream of the return of the Beloved to our shores."

Quoting from John Bass' notes:

"Baba left for the airport on July 31st 1952,* arriving there an hour and a half in advance. He wanted to meet someone there in particular and He did. I happened to be standing right in front of Baba. Whilst standing in front of the chair, a man came along about seven feet away and turned around and looked intently at Baba for a few moments, went along again and turned once more to look at Baba, and finally walked away and disappeared. Previously Baba had told us all that there was someone He wanted to meet and that no one should stand near Him. Any who were standing near at the time He sent off while He remained alone. Undoubtedly Baba did much inner work at the airport."

In conclusion, I take you once more back to the Meher Center, Myrtle Beach.

I remember one particular morning when Baba came over to the Lantern Cabin where Norina and four or five of us were living. He called us on to the porch. With His alphabet board and Mani interpreting, He spoke of the future work at the Center. He enumerated the five various aspects of the work.

*This date is wrong. Baba left the U.S. on July 30th, 1952, and arrived in London on the morning of July 31st according to Charmian's passport - she traveled with Him. - webmaster-JK
