expression in our evolutionary sojourn through the cycles of life. The life element in man is of the transcendental universe.
Shri Meher Baba sums up these ideas in the following words: "My panacea to the worried world is the effort on its part to get an answer to the questions, 'Whence and Whither.' The knowledge that all have the same beginning and the same end, with life on earth a happy interlude, will go a long way in making the brotherhood of man a reality on earth, and this in turn will strike at the root of narrow exploitation. I bless you all for the realization of this, the aim of life."
The recognition and general acceptance of these eternal realities facilitate a clear understanding of the glorious, underlying UNITY that permeates the ever-changing diversity in God's magnificent universe. In the province of this sublime unity and identification with God, one finds, as a child of God, that sound, fundamental, consummate, "security" that is the goal of every living being. Therefore, "Our only security is God." The re-establishment of our relationship—our oneness—with God is imperative. This harmonious attunement with the supreme being is our real spiritual home. After the Kingdom has been achieved, all else will be added.
This security—this impregnable fortress of strength and power—abides in the inner sanctum that has been built deep down in the garden of one's heart as the true "Temple of the Living God," into which the aspirant retires to do his worshipping.
With each such reverent, spiritual, experience in divine grace, the soul of man passes through a vital transmutation to a higher, more refined state. It is from this earnest, loving, communion with its Maker that the soul emerges reborn, revitalized, reintegrated and regenerated. It is thus elevated to a more exalted plane of radiant living and an unswerving devotion to the true service of God and Man. True service to man is true service to God.
Who are we, then? To amplify the previous designations, we are God's emissaries, doing God's work on the earthly plane, as instruments for the fulfillment of the divine plan for Man. Each person is a viceroy in his own right with plenipotentiary powers and the freedom to use his energies as he wills. His opportunities are unlimited and his corresponding responsibilities most urgent.
