Anna Waffle, saw me off at the San Francisco Airport, at 8:45 A.M. on United Airlines. A perfect rainbow arched over the plane as it departed. I arrived in New York at 4:30 P.M. where Dr. Ben Hayman and his nephew, Dr. Golden, Fred and Ella Winterfeldt and John Bass were on hand to meet me, and we all had dinner together.

At 10:00 P.M. Ben and I left New York City for Bombay, India, on Air India Jet. A Lebanese girl had checked our luggage and arranged for us to have 3 seats apiece across the aisle from each other. It was a stroke of luck to meet this Lebanese girl. She checked my luggage and made sure the serving cart I was taking would he placed on top of other luggage and so protected.

We reached London at 10:00 A.M. November 27th, but we did not know that Baba had wired his brother, Adi Jr., to have the London Baba Group meet us at the airport. Ben and I had a little refreshment and were looking around for Adi Jr., but Adi missed seeing us. Finally we found Adi but the limited time had passed and regretfully we had to depart without getting a glimpse of the London Group.

At 11:00 A.M., Adi Jr., Ben and I left London with other added passengers aboard. We stopped at Frankfurt, Germany, just long enough to have refreshments. We also stopped in Rome. Soon after leaving Rome, I informed the steward on the plane that I must see my relatives when we reached Beirut, Lebanon, for I knew they would be waiting at the airport to see me and I must not miss them.

Upon arrival at Beirut my two cousins and their families were on hand. An official of the airline was calling my name when I disembarked from the plane and he escorted me to the gate where one cousin was waiting, and on the upper deck of the airport my other cousin and the rest of both families were waiting, standing against the railing, calling to me. Excitement and emotional display were too obviously demonstrated—even bystanders showed their affected emotions. Time was running out, we were not able to say half of what we had in mind. My cousin added to my baggage by giving me two jars of home-made preserves which later I turned over to dear Mani. Our seat space, including our neighbor's seat space, was really jammed with baggage for Adi had come on board with 4 more bags.

Monday, Nov 28th—We arrived in Bombay at 6:50 A.M.. Meherjee,
