Darshan: Baba wanted the ladies to come first, one by one, in a queue and take darshan. Before everyone else, the first lady to garland and bow down to Baba was Godavari Mata, the saint now in charge of Upasni Maharaj's Ashram in Sakori. Baba wanted everyone to wear the badges given to each, as it would he difficult to identify the Sahavasis from the outsiders allowed into the camp today. He also said that none should try to embrace Him, for want of time, and that every one should be as quick as they could. After darshan each should go to the dining hall, have lunch and come back to the Meeting-pandal.

 

Several had flowers, garlands made of lace thread, or camphor, or fine silk or cotton, sweets, clothes, etc., as love-offerings to Baba. Many offered cash. Baba (as He never physically touches cash or money except when giving to the poor) allowed the cash to be put in a box or received on His behalf by one of the disciples and put in the box kept at Baba's feet.

 

The ladies (numbering about 200) first lined up and one by one had Baba's darshan. While they left Baba's seat on the dais, each took a little of the "Charanamrit" and applied it on her forehead. Later, the men also did likewise.

 

At about 11:05, the ladies finished their turn. Baba left the Pandal for a few minutes for his cabin in the camp and resumed his "throne" on the dais at about 11:20 a.m. The turn of the gentlemen commenced and they numbered in all about 600.

 

At this stage, Baba had an announcement to be made to the congregation, as follows: "Mr. Jupudi Subbanna of Akividu village (Andhra State) was permitted by Baba to bear and pay the deficit of about Rs. 3000/ or 2000/-, whatever it was ascertained to be, for the special train arranged for the Andhra lovers for their return journey from Meherabad to Vijayawada.

 

“Jupudi Subbanna came to Baba and offered to bear the deficit. He told Baba: 'You in me are paying, Baba.' Baba told him in reply: 'It is enough if you love Me and do My work in your place and you may utilize this
