the human, just as plants have been evolved from the mineral, animal from the plant, and man from the animal, and saint from man.

IV. Infinite Love

Baba is a symbol of love and He wants all your love consecrated to Him. "Do you love me?" He asks. Yes, we all love Him, for He is All-Love and the All-Beloved. Have you seen any Avatar embracing men, women, children, beggars, harijans,* monks and mangs without any idea of their caste and creed? Have you seen any Mahatmas embracing lepers, sick patients and destitute, in tattered clothes? Have you seen any saint conducting an institution for cranks, fools, and lunatics? It is Babaji who sees God in all beings, the Beloved of equal vision and universal mission. He is the Avatar of infinite consciousness in a finite body.

V. His Pure Life

Babe's life is a pure efflorescence of cosmic consciousness. He is a blossom of the Immortal, born with the divine aroma. He was born in Poona in 1894, 25th February. His father, Sheheriarji, was Zoroastrian dervish, a keeper of the tower of silence. His mother was the virtuous Shirin Banoo. Meher, the compassionate, matriculated in 1911 from St. Vincent School and continued his college course in the Deccan College. He was a poet in the making. He had a taste for Shelley, Byron, Hafiz and Rumi. His blooming face and beaming eyes, his warming heart and calming brain, his vernal beauty and supernal charm manifested his native divinity.

Hazrat Babajan, a venerable lady of 122 summers, watched this remarkable Meherwan from her abode under a neem tree. One day she beckoned him near, embraced him and kissed awake the Divine Consciousness in Him. The child of grace felt a thrill of delight. Silent He sat at her feet each day, drinking deep of the fountain of bliss—thrills bubbling out of her divine touch. The lad of nineteen forgot body, home and world. He was drawn towards the living masters of the time. Narayan Maharaj of Kedgaon, Tajuddin Baba of Nagpur blessed his rebirth in super-consciousness. The great Sai Baba of Shirdi called him, "Parvardigar," an incarnate God, a saviour. Upasni Maharaj struck awake His Godhood and remarked "Meherwan is a Perfect Master; I have given Him my charge. He will move the world. Humanity will listen to Him. He is Sadguru; let all carry out His command."
