brightly dressed before 9 o'clock and climbing the lull to Avatar's "Abode", the name Baba called the house he lived in at Kiel Mountain. We left our shoes at the door, and went into the meeting room of the house, and sat quietly on the forms. Baba asked all did we sleep well, and those who did not sleep to stand and give the reason why they did not. Baba asked for the "Prayer of Repentance" to be read again, and Francis went down to the farmhouse to obtain the book. Then Dr. Donkin read it in his clear resonant voice and we all stood. Baba again said we were all forgiven our failures up to that moment and also that He included all those who loved Him but were not able to be present.

 

Baba told us to repeat these words, "Beloved God, Thy Will has come to pass," seven times after 12 p.m. on 9th July, that is, the first moment of the 10th July.

 

Francis was then sent outside to see if the weather was suitable for Baba to visit the women's quarters. The mist had lifted, though there were still clouds about with sunshine breaking through. Baba asked Francis if he thought the weather suitable to start out to visit the farmhouse. Francis said he thought it might rain, perhaps it was not so good. Baba then sent Francis out again to look at the weather, Francis reported it was not so good—but Baba said He would go. John Bruford drove his car to the door, and Baba now in an overcoat was driven down the hill to the farmhouse and dining quarters underneath. Baba went through the house inspecting the rooms. He called for all the cooks to meet Him. Then He was driven to see the men's sleeping quarters, the tents by the entrance drive. We were called again to the "Avatar's Abode" for the women's session with Baba. We all sat around on the carpet in Baba's room, Baba sat among the satin cushions on his bed, and Eruch stood alongside to interpret his words.

 

These were wonderful moments with Baba, each felt deeply his Loving Presence as he spoke to us about Mehera, the most beloved and dearest woman, who is so close to Baba's Heart; he said that Mehera is the purest of women, and also that Mehera sent her love to us all, and she had made some gifts to give to each of us. Next to Mehera, was Mani, his sister; Mani did not think of herself; she did all for Baba regardless of her personal pleasures. Baba handed around photos of Mehera, and Mani, and other groups of Indian women devotees. There were many photographs, and after we had seen them, Baba held four large photographs which Mehera had said
